Our Shepherd is a man of integrity, uprightness and holiness, who is blessed with multiple spiritual gifts. By the Grace and abundant blessings of God, he is happily married to his wife, who is the Mother-In-Celestial, Funke Ogundokun and four children (Benjamin, Michael, Emmanuel and Okiki Ogundokun). Venerable Sunday Ogundokun lives a devoted and exemplary Christian life, founded on love for his neighbours, a life of philanthropy, the fear of God and obligations to humanity. Fondly called Baba Benji, he loves children and provides financial supports to many orphanages in Lagos State. One of his favorite bible verses is Matthew, Chapter 19, verse 14, where Jesus said: “Suffer little children and forbid them not, to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven" Apart from his biological children, he is blessed with so many spiritual sons and daughters, both at home and abroad, all of whom are ably representing God’s kingdom and are also tools in the house of God.
The first miracle performed in the church by our Father in the Lord and Shepherd, through the Holy Spirit, was the healing of mad man. This made people from far and near take notice. This singular act generated so much buzz in the community that the church’s membership swelled, as people began to believe in the church’s mission. To God be the glory, God has performed so many miracles in the church. Many have been saved by giving their lives to Christ, mad people have been healed, miraculous child births occur regularly, people have been delivered from the spirt of pornography, homosexuality, bisexuality and unnatural sexual acts and many more have been delivered from demonic possession and received miraculous career promotions, business triumphs, employments and medical miracles and healings.
All night General Deliverance Service every last Friday of every month from 10pm till dawn. The Celestial Church of Christ, Imole Jesu Tan, believes in the ministry of fasting, prayers and deliverance which takes place on the last Friday of every month. The General Deliverance Service is an all-night vigil service. The deliverance service is usually conducted inside the church sanctuary.
For special cases and as may be directed by the Shepherd, at the leading of the Holy Spirit, special deliverance services may be prescribed for members. This may be a for periods ranging from three to twenty-one days of intense prayers and fasting, conducted by several Minsters, prophets/prophetesses and the Shepherd. Some special deliverance services may be residential, with participants being accommodated in the Church’s residential hostel.
The deliverance ministry is anchored on the teachings and miracles of Jesus Christ, where Christ healed and delivered people from various forms of sicknesses, demonic attacks and satanic possession. John 8:36, says, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed”; Psalm 34:17, states that, “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles”. Deliverance is also supported by verses such as Isaiah 61:1, about proclaiming freedom to captives; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, where Paul speaks of “mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds”; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5: where Paul describes spiritual warfare, where God’s power demolishes strongholds and brings every thought into captivity to Christ; Luke 4:18-19: where Jesus reading from Isaiah, declared that He was anointed to preach the gospel, give deliverance to the captive, and set at liberty those who are oppressed; and Colossians 1:13: which describes God rescuing believers and delivering them from the power of darkness and into the kingdom of His
Son.
